The Hyperspace Challenge Editorial Staff
The 2021 Hyperspace Challenge cohort finalists have been selected! The year’s cohort is comprised of 13 startups and 11 university teams representing 13 U.S. states as well as Canada and Singapore. The finalists have been tasked with developing technology that can be applied to or solve problems in space for the U.S. Space Force.
This is a particularly exciting year as we roll out our new university accelerator track to increase collaboration opportunities between the federal government and university research teams which are traditionally siloed from commercial and government innovation.
“Finalists with the most viable technologies will be awarded a total of $100,000 in prize money to expedite follow-on activities related to establishing government acquisition or contracting opportunities,” said Gabe Mounce, deputy director of SpaceWERX, in a recent SpaceNews article.
