2025 Problem Statement

The 2025 Hyperspace Challenge

In Partnership with SpaceWERX / collaboration with OTTI

July 2025

Hyperspace Challenge, in partnership with SpaceWERX and collaboration with OTTI, is looking for companies with proven track records and mature technologies to help develop key technologies and capabilities that enable an integrated immersive training experience for Space Force Guardians.

SpaceWERX, aims to foster collaboration with innovators to accelerate capabilities and shape the future of space. It recognizes that major technology trends impacting national security are emerging from various sectors including private industry, academia, and government. To maintain a competitive advantage, SpaceWERX seeks to quickly identify, validate, acquire, and integrate these technologies by forming partnerships between military operational experts and top problem solvers.

The OTTI Program Executive Office of Space Systems Command is responsible for integrating and synchronizing the acquisition, development, and sustainment of integrated test and training capabilities to ensure the delivery of fully burdened force designs to the United States Space Force. Our area of responsibility encompasses the collection of distributed, enterprise-wide test and training systems and processes that establish and sustain combat readiness across the spectrum of conflict.

Specifically, SpaceWERX and OTTI is looking for:

Data processing and integration:

  • Provide enterprise-scale capability that enables secure, reliable, scalable processing and data collection, storage, integration and dissemination from various multi-domain and multi-agency sources.

Pattern of Life (PoL) characterization analysis tools that:

  • Collect data in near-real-time, integrate it with existing data and identify PoL trends for red and blue assets.
  • Determine space/ground system operational capabilities and PoL trends.
  • Determine potential future satellite maneuver envelope based on PoL.

Digital twins:

  • Capability to rapidly produce, test and verify/validate digital twin models that replicate all aspects of the physical and operational characteristics of the satellite and associated network infrastructures, ground stations, and communication links.
  • Capabilities that enable digital twin models to be utilized across multiple security levels.

Who Should Apply

  • Companies with technologies that could streamline the design, development, and deployment of solutions within the next few years in the areas of data processing and integration, pattern of life characterization and digital twins that support an integrated immersive training environment.
  • Companies in traditional space or aerospace industries with technologies supportive but adjacent to their core business that could have a relevant application to the needs, including (but not limited to):
    • Space Mission Design
    • Space Mission Operations
  • Companies outside of the traditional space and aerospace industries with relevant technological solutions that are currently applied to other industries or sectors, including (but not limited to):
    • Simulation
    • Augmented reality
    • Mixed reality
    • Virtual reality
  • Companies interested in learning the details behind government needs and building relationships with potential government partners.
